Thread Hug began with a simple thought — why should timeless Indian craftsmanship fade away when it can be beautifully reimagined for today's homes?
For generations, the iconic Solapur Blanket has been known for its durability, breathable comfort, and honest craftsmanship. Woven in Solapur, Maharashtra, these blankets became a part of millions of Indian homes and memories. They were trusted, loved, and passed from one generation to another.
But over time, changing lifestyles and modern interior preferences pushed this heritage product into the background.
We saw an opportunity.
Not just to sell blankets — but to revive a legacy.
Our Beginning
It all begin with a simple desire to own a comfortable blanket which has good design and is comfortable. Comforter didn't help because it was bulky and trapped body heat. Solapur blanket helped with the required comfort but not with the design.
We thought why not buy Solapur Blanket with a design matching our interiors but there was none. We visited Solapur, spoke to manufacturers at Solapur MIDC area, discussed with trade organizations and to our disappointment we found of that more than 95% factories are shut or moved to manufacturing terry towels.
We returned with a sad feeling that we didn't got even single Solapur blanket but after returning the survey conducted concluded that people still have love and trust on Solapur Blanket but there is change in criteria while buying blankets i.e. it should match with home interiors.

Why Solapur?
Our first product & idea was born here. This historic city represents one of India's oldest weaving traditions. Today also it is place to experience exceptional craftsmanship, premium cotton weaving expertise & India's pride in textile heritage. The blanket's manufactured here got Maharashtra's first GI tag recognition.
